“How’s ya momma and ‘dem?” – Travel Writing for (some of) NOLA’s Local Culture

Can you say Poboy Fest with a mouth full of local sammitch?

A month ago, on a whim, I replied to a random Craigslist ad that was seeking travel writers. And since Craigslist is always a coin toss, I was pleasantly surprised shortly after to be awarded a contract from a legit, new, travel guide company – Gogobot.

These guys are beefing up their site’s content with travel advice and insights from locals all over the world, and they asked me to contribute to their New Orleans section. Gogobot also tailors all its travel guides and reviews to different “tribes” of travelers, which is awesome because this lets any type of traveler find the kind of experience they long for in any city they visit.

Check out one of my first Gogobot New Orleans travel guides right here! “How’s ya momma and ‘dem?” – (Some of) NOLA’s Local Culture

I’ve since written a total of 6 guides for Gogobot, covering restaurants, hotels, and attractions tailored for the Local Culture, History Buffs, Foodies, Backpackers, Students, and even Spiritual tribes. (Also, grateful shouts out to many friends for introducing me to these places over the years.) I’ll share more of these in the coming weeks, but Gogobot tweeted about one of my guides earlier today, so I’m sharing that one as well. Happy travels to you all, and if you know anyone visiting (or living) in New Orleans from today onward, please share my guide(s) with them!
